.overview:*we are designing the grid of the *future*we are innovators by nature*, *for over 50 years, electric power engineers, llc (epe) has partnered with power and energy clients across the globe to focus on complex engineering and grid modeling challenges.
as an early leader in the renewables space, we continue to see significant opportunities to build a sustainable and secure grid.
join a team committed to making an impact on the communities we serve and the environment in which we live.
together we can continue to create the "grid of the future"!
*responsibilities*:*join us in leading the *change!
*develop and conduct computer modeling and analysis for transmission planning studies which include steady state analysis, short circuit analysis, and dynamic stability analysis.
studies may include near-term and long-term transmission planning, generator interconnection studies, reliability-driven transmission project alternatives development, and nerc standards compliance analyses.
*how you can make an impact*:- perform power system impact studies: steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability- perform full generator interconnection studies which may also include sub-synchronous resonance (ssr) studies.- ensure that renewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission system meet voltage ride-through (vrt) requirements.- prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.- process, generate, and maintain data as required for all studies.- take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.- identify training needs and present to the engineering manager as needed.- perform other duties, as assigned*power systems engineer iii includes all of the above, in addition to*:- ability to provide on the job training or help oversee the work of other power systems engineers and interns.- execute on multiple studies/tasks at any given time.- perform complex tasks according to good engineering practice and epe procedures.- capable of autonomously and independently executing on assigned tasks.- participate in multifunctional teams to obtain/provide input, address client comments, and perform technical studies.- assist in developing tools, processes, and procedures that enhance engineering study completion.
*performance criteria*:- quality of the study/task completed.- efficiency in task completion (at or below budget).- meeting deadlines.- growth of technical capabilities.qualifications:*bring your passion, here what's needed*:*staff i*- bachelors degree in electric engineering with an emphasis in power systems*staff ii*- bachelors degree in electric engineering with an emphasis in power systems- 2 - 3 years of experience as a power systems engineer- experience performing power system impact studies such as steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability- experience with power systems software such as pss/e, pscad, aspen, and tara
