we are seeking an experienced and dynamic sourcing manager to oversee our sourcing of manufacturing parts in mexico.
the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the local market, strong negotiation skills, manufacturing knowledge, and a proven track record in international sourcing and supply chain management.
key responsibilities: market analysis: conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities in mexico.supplier management: develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.negotiation: lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.quality assurance: collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all sourced products meet company standards and regulatory requirements.cost management: monitor and manage sourcing budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.risk management: identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing activities, including geopolitical, economic, and supply chain risks.compliance: ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.reporting: prepare and present regular reports on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and market trends to senior management.technical evaluation: assess the technical capabilities of suppliers to ensure they can meet product specifications and quality standards.process improvement: implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing processes and supplier performance.data analysis: utilize data analytics tools to analyze sourcing data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.technical training: provide technical training and support to the supplier to enhance their skills and knowledge.drawings and specifications: read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate sourcing of materials and components.qualifications: education: bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or engineering specialized in manufacturing (machining & welding) or a related field.experience: minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the mexico market.excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.proficiency in sourcing and procurement software.fluency in english and spanish.technical proficiency in data analysis tools and sourcing software.ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.ability to travel as needed.we offer: we offer a challenging work environment that values innovation and suits development-minded people who enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
