key tasks & responsibilities

§support one pss site implementation and sustainment, leveraging best practices and change management methodology.
§play an active role in the ideation and deployment of future technological advancements.

§manage on-site stakeholder relations, fostering collaboration.
§measures operations quality and efficiency; strives for steady improvement by collecting customers feedback and running learning sessions
§partner with production team, field quality, production research and others to identify improvement opportunities for reliability, quality, cost, and customer experience.
§improve decision-making and precision in farming through digital tools.
§the position emphasizes innovation, operational excellence, and the creation of sustainable solutions that align with the organization's in the 90 days working cycle as well as mid/long-term objectives.
§participate in projects related to digitalization like waybeyond and acs.
§follow up in gims on cars, pars & observations for quality and safety
§develop a budget and forecast for the farming unit.
§aoa update pepper and cucumber
§review production needs in terms of investments, propose to the leadership, and execute the approved opex and capex projects.
§participate in dds2 & dds3 sessions, present farming kpis, present solutions to them, and if they do not depend on the job title holder, seek solutions within the team to comply.
§review periodically the quality results, if applicable work on root cause analysis and action plans to improve quality metrics.
foundation seed:
§together with foundation seed squad team members manage the fs program for the assigned crops maintaining and improving reliability, quality, timeliness and cost.
§ensure excellent collaboration with breeders, seed production, farming, and operations teams striving to achieve the yield and quality targets, perform root cause analysis and improvement plans in case of deviations in production.
greenhouse & nursery operations:
§visit to greenhouses to check crops and discuss their management with field reps.
§plan and organize strategies with the farming team to achieve company goals.
§review the daily reports with the farming team and ensure the appropriate actions are taken.
§ensure that all the information obtained from the crops (estimates, field visits, etc.) is available in scout/velocity, alpha crop system, waybeyond, etc.
§work focused on quality and generate the results expected by our customers.
§provide global crop leads & seed production specialists with information about production status.
§base rate and aoa definition with global crop leads.
§responsible for the nursery area and ensuring the good growth of seedlings of peppers and cucumbers.
substrate & organic waste
§ensure pots are supplied on time for the new cycles to the greenhouses. Make sure all the steps are done correctly (disinfection) and buy substrate.
§make sure the organic waste area is operating within the standard practices in alignment with local and national regulation.
climate control
§ensure the right strategy for climate control is applied to maximize production and get the best quality results.
irrigation and nutrition
§ensure the right strategy for irrigation and nutrition is applied to maximize production and get the best quality results
pest & disease
§ensure the right strategy for pests and diseases is applied to maximize production and get the best quality results
third-party growers:
§establishment the crops of pepper and cucumbers with the external grower, negotiation of cost per hectare, contracts, and increasing production in the coming years.
qualifications & competencies
§bachelor of science degree or higher (engineering or business preferred) with 8 years of relevant experience in the seed industry or related fields leading people & teams.
§shopfloor mindset orientation & experience with problem-solving tools/process improvement.
§demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop talent & build effective teams, cultivate innovation, manage through ambiguity/change & drive vision and purpose.
§ability to enhance a psychologically safe environment to allow innovation and continuously develop business solutions.
§experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
§english skills: intermediate in speaking, writing & listening.
§excellent results orientation and planning skills.
§knowledge of sap system preferred & advanced computer proficiency (ms office, bi software).
