reporting to the senior supervisor of engineering, as a manufacturing engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing resources through the study of methods, material flows, processes, tools, machinery, and equipment, focusing on eliminating all operations that do not add value to the product, service, or process in order to increase the value of each activity performed, reduce waste, and improve operations, with the goal of meeting quality, delivery, and cost requirements. Implementation of improvements in safety, productivity, and quality through change control procedures.
about you:
* optimize new and current work systems and methods.
* determine the correct tools, machinery, and equipment necessary for the proper and efficient execution of production activities.
* identify critical points in the process and/or product to implement methods and control systems for defect prevention, defect analysis, identifying the root cause, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate the problem at its source.
* line balancing and workload distribution to improve efficiency.
* application of lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement (kaizen), in collaboration with the production team.
* eliminate or reduce rework or reprocessing operations that do not add value to the product.
* update production standards.
* provide effective responses to internal and external failure reports (customer complaints).
* daily evaluation of the area to identify the personnel's needs regarding the lack of supplies, equipment, and tools.
* full participation and involvement in the launch of new products, from the development phase to production.
* create work standards for new products, pieces per hour, cycle times, and project staffing templates based on key dates and current and future production volume.
* establish action plans for successful new product launches.
* create training plans and employee development programs to improve skills, knowledge, and abilities.
* coordinate the transfer of equipment, products, and assembly lines within littelfuse plants.
