*among other duties, the incumbents will*:plans and directs the activities of staff in the collection, evaluation, production and dissemination of drug law enforcement intelligence.oversees and plans the operations of an intelligence program with worldwide implications.
assesses unforeseen developments, new phenomena, and difficulties encountered.initiates, plans, and evaluates broad and comprehensive research and analysis programs, procedures, and policies.prepares and presents briefings to high-level federal, state, and local law enforcement representatives and to foreign dignitaries in regards to difficult, complex, and controversial drug trafficking issues.performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised.establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members.may be required to testify during career as an intelligence research specialist.
