position overview
we are looking for a seasoned front office manager to oversee our front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen sense for hospitality management and be adept at leading a team while providing exceptional service to ensure guest satisfaction.
responsibilities
1. operational leadership:
supervise and direct the daily operations of the front office team, including reception, concierge, and reservations staff.
ensure adherence to hotel standards for check-in and check-out procedures, room allocation, and guest services.
2. team management:
recruit, train, and manage front office employees, ensuring they are motivated, supported, and capable of delivering high-quality service.
conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and develop staff training programs.
3. guest experience:
handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests to maintain high guest satisfaction levels.
implement strategies to improve guest experience based on feedback and industry trends.
4. administrative duties:
manage room inventory and rate management in coordination with the revenue management team.
oversee the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports on occupancy, revenue, and service delivery.
5. financial oversight:
monitor and manage the front office budget, focusing on cost control and revenue maximization.
ensure accurate billing and credit procedures are followed.
6. compliance and standards:
maintain compliance with all hospitality regulations and company policies.
ensure the team operates within the framework of local laws and health and safety standards.

11. comply with highgate hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
12. maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
13. must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
14. must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
15. must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
16. perform other duties as requested.
qualifications
1. education:
bachelors degree in hospitality management, business administration, or equivalent field related to the profession under the usmca agreement.
2. experience:
at least five years of experience in hospitality, with a minimum of two years in a managerial position specifically within front office operations.
3. legal requirements:
must be a citizen of canada or mexico to qualify for tn visa status.
must provide proof of qualifications meeting or exceeding those required for the profession on the usmca list.
