In this role, your responsibilities will be:
1. coordinate with internal requestors and suppliers for purchase order changes and new parts introduction.
2. conduct capacity analysis for underperforming suppliers. Provide resolution on shipments and payment discrepancies.
3. timely execution on system exception messages. Find alternate sources of supply for materials in shortage.
4. decrease the number of late purchase orders and help maintain control of inventory levels.
5. provide information to maintain the flow of the supply chain.
6. develop and manage relationships with the supplier base and ensure tactical supply to fromex.
7. develop and implement tactical contingency plans with suppliers.
8. manage and collaborate with suppliers on improvements in rdsl (deliveries on required dates) and pdsl (deliveries on promised dates).
9. identify and activate alternative sources in the supply base.
10. conduct on-site visits to suppliers to analyze and evaluate capacity restrictions and non-compliance in deliveries.
11. monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and short inventory of assigned materials.
12. supervise the timely purchase of materials in kanban, vmi, and min-max. Monitor and implement the rsch-out, rsch-in, cancellation messages to avoid excesses and shortages of material.
13. ensure that the system parameters are met and updated in a timely manner.
14. ensure that the classifications of your abc products are accurate and coordinate their update.
15. resolve discrepancies in invoices and receipts to prevent them from stopping the shipment of materials to the plant.
16. ensure timely deliveries and evaluate better shipping methods. Control the purchase of low-use material.
17. participate in business reviews with suppliers, support in the control of variations of prices, and complete the release of purchase orders on time.
18. implement and support the introduction of new part numbers and material in the output phase.
who you are:
as buyer, you will have the authority to call the supplier at any time to place, expedite or cancel purchase orders as required!
for this role, you will need:
* proven experience as a buyer (7 years), commodity lead, planner/buyer.
* knowledge of supply chain concepts. Apics training in supply chain and experience working with foreign suppliers from the usa and asia.
* good level of english to maintain business conversations with suppliers, availability and documentation to travel to the usa, and to change residence to nuevo laredo, tamaulipas.
* experience planning under abc classification, min-max, mrp, and kanban.
* experience managing suppliers' performance and inventory management programs: as400, oracle, jd edwards, excel skills.
* analytical, communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
preferred qualifications that set you apart:
