Assist accounting management with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the accounting/finance department.
develop and maintain financial and cost accounting processes and controls. Analyze existing procedures/policies and make recommendations and improvements as needed.
responsible for the monthly standard cost analysis for our manufacturing facility in mexico.
analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against standard/budget and explain variances.
develop and adjust standardized costs for labor, materials and overhead.
heavy involvement with inventory, standard costing, and obsolescence reserves.
identify operational variances and collaborate with key stakeholders to improve efficiencies.
capture and classify cost data to determine costs associated with product lines, new product introductions and business segments.
determine production costs, cost of sales and other cost-related metrics.
track monthly costs and production activity to identify areas for cost and process improvement.
assist in the preparation of financial closing and reporting.
perform ad-hoc analyses to assist management.

education
bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, cpa and/or mba a plus.
5 years of experience in cost accounting and financial reporting, manufacturing environment preferred.
working experience with microsoft dynamics 365 and power bi a plus.
strong technical skills in both general and cost accounting.
