the san administrator is responsible for the correct functioning of the brocade directors, ensuring correct connectivity between the different components of the san also in disk allocation from powermax and purestorage arrays.
as san administrator, you will:
1. manage the performance, reliability, and availability of storage systems based on service level agreements.
2. perform routine maintenance tasks on dell emc hardware, pure storage arrays including storage arrays, servers, and networking equipment, software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.
3. analyze system performance metrics and implement optimizations to enhance overall infrastructure efficiency.
4. implement and maintain monitoring solutions to proactively identify potential issues and prevent system downtime.
5. ensure hardware and application security and controls meet or exceed guidelines.
6. provide support during disaster recovery exercises or real disaster recovery cases for all managed storage systems.
7. apply the recommendations of the global engineering team for system improvements and upgrades, applying firmware updates, patches, and fixes to maintain system security and stability.
8. collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives.
9. develop a comprehensive migration plan, including timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
10. interact with internal teams such as cabling, core network, operating system and other business support areas for problem escalations, resolutions, reporting, and coordination.
11. work jointly with manufacturers, broadcom, dell, and purestorage to install, customize, and maintain the storage environment (hw & sw).
it is recommended that you know how to work in a team and have high analytical skills to solve problems in the infrastructure.
