Position summary
this position will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing all indirect spend across manufacturing sites across north america. This role ensures cost efficiency, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies while driving strategic initiatives to improve indirect procurement processes.
this role will have the site-specific indirect buyers reporting directly to them and will report up to the director of indirect procurement for the americas region. This is a new transformational role where experience driving change management and working to implement buying efficiencies will be critical to its success. This role will work closely with procurement category management teams to ensure effective integration and collaboration into strategic category spend plans to support compliance with strategies as well as support in value creation as determined.
responsibilities
* leading team: set performance goals for designated buyer (s) and establish action plans to meet them.
* support ongoing transformation and growth initiatives: work with global/regional stakeholders as necessary to identify continuous improvement opportunities in buyers roles/responsibilities, processes, and policies.
* stakeholder collaboration: act as the primary liaison between manufacturing sites and the procurement commodity teams for indirect spend. Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and legal, ton esure alignment on objectives. Provide training and guidance to site-level personnel on procurement policies, processes, and systems.
* supplier management: develop and maintain strong relationships with key local suppliers to ensure reliable service and product quality. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or cost. Evaluate and onboard new suppliers as needed.
* spend analysis and budget management: monitor and analyze indirect spend across all sites to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Track procurement performance metrics and support contributions to these metrics.
qualifications
* bs/ba in supply chain, logistics management, business, engineering, or related area.
* prefer a minimum of 10 -15 years’ experience in supply chain/operations.
* cpsm, cltd, cscp, pmp, or equivalent certification(s) preferred
* strong negotiation and contract management skills.
* proficiency in procurement software and erp systems.
* excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
* strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to build relationships at all levels.
