*position summary*:
ensure compliance with home and foreign government laws and customs regulations by leading, coordinating and implementing processes including but not limited, to effective procedures to prevent potential legal risks.
responsible to create, control & plan current certifications in terms of import/export regulations.
*duties*:
1.
update the steris on the laws and regulations published by the government.
2.
compliance of the import & export operations according to mexican and international customs laws and regulations.
3.
provide assistance in the management of procedures related to the secretariat of economy and the ministry of finance and public credit.
4.
monitor and update the ctpat-oea certifications.
immex, vat certification, prosec program and the 8thrule permits.
5.
conduct quaterly annex 24 and annex 30 compliance audits.
6.
monitor and update the cofepris permits.
7.
determine gaps, if existent, when evaluating compliance along with potential risks.
8.
manage gaps as projects: lead, control, define, plan, & execute.
update local and corporate teams on such gaps.
9.
establish and standardize compliance program including fulfillment level and heat map to prioritize opportunities.
10.
keep team updated in terms of compliance through training (internal/external) establishing policies and procedures.
11.
collaborate with internal and external resources to maintain plant compliance.
12.
ensure the compliance of the virtual and especial operations.
13.
process the chemical permits.
14.
work in liaison with the external consultants to create strategies for legal & financial risk mitigation.
15.
prepare the usmca campaign (letters/formats) each september to be launched on the first week of october of every calendar year.
16.
serve as a helpdesk for supplier's inquiries regarding the usmca campaign and administrate supplier's certificates.
17.
perform and participate in internal audits related to trade compliance.
18.
customer broker bidding process.
*education degree*:
- bachelor's degree in general studies*required experience*:
1.
bachelor's degree in administration or related field (international commerce or international affairs is a plus).
2.
6 to 8 years min.
working in import export & trade compliance activities.
3.
wide experience in customs procedures and regulations such as: immex, prosec, laws and regulations of foreign trade, 8vas and 2das rules, sub maquila, import export permits, negotiations with brokers.
4.
ability to interpret government regulations and duty preferential programs.
5.
experience performing, supporting or participating in audits and evaluations of internal controls requirements for customs operations.
6.
intermediate microsoft suite (word,excel, power point, outlook).
7.
knowledge of softwares like mapps (as400) and oracle is preferable.
8.
experience in maquiladora industry is a plus.
