*role overview*
the scrum master is responsible for leading and facilitating the agile development process for digital factory coe products.
they are responsible for ensuring that agile methodologies are followed and that the team is meeting its goals and objectives.
they serve as a coach, mentor, and facilitator to the team, helping them to work together efficiently and effectively.
this role will report to associate director, dt factory coe pmo.
*main responsibilities*
the sm role is a team member who has the responsibility to help the team achieve its goals.
facilitates the agile development process, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
act as a coach and mentor to the team, providing guidance on agile methodologies, team dynamics, and project management best practices.
ensure that the team is following the agile process and that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
identify and remove impediments that are preventing the team from meeting its goals and objectives.
work with product owners to prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the team is working on the highest-priority items.
ensure that the team is working collaboratively, and that communication is open and transparent.
facilitate discussions and decision-making processes, ensuring that the team is aligned and making progress towards its goals.
monitor and report on team performance, including velocity and burn-down charts.
continuously improve the agile process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
establishes and maintains sprint schedules, epics, features, backlogs, and user stories in management tools such as confluence, jira, etc.
works with product owners to translate epics, stories, and other items on the sprint list into actionable tasks for developers.
assigns and delegates tasks appropriately, ensuring the team's work aligns with priorities and the overall schedule, team is operating at optimal capacity, and work products are well defined in terms of size, scope, acceptance criteria, etc.
*domain expertise knowledge & qualifications*
- bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- certified scrum master (csm) certification.
- 5+ years managing it projects using agile methodologies and approaches
- 5+ years experience with scrum/kanban methodologies
- experience in a scrum master role
- experience with software development
- experience leading agile development teams.
- strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- knowledge of agile methodologies and project management best practices.
- experience with agile development tools such as jira
- strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and remove impediments.
- ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
- empathetic - support the team by displaying an authentic understanding and concern for a team member's beliefs or feelings.
- mentor - supports the personal development of team members, helping them gain a continuous learning mindset
- fluent spoken and written english is mandatory
- willing to travel internationally 5%
