project overview:
we are undertaking an exciting and detailed restoration of a 1967 lincoln continental convertible, a project that will involve a comprehensive documentation process over approximately 18 to 24 months. The aim is to produce both highlight reels and long-form videos that showcase every stage of this meticulous restoration. These videos will serve the dual purpose of enhancing the car's resale value and educating an audience on the restoration process via youtube.
key responsibilities:
1. videography:
o conduct onsite recording of key moments in the car's restoration process.
o capture creative and engaging footage that reflects the craftsmanship involved.
2. setup & monitoring:
o set up cameras for autonomous recording when direct videography isn't required.
o ensure that the equipment is correctly positioned to capture all necessary footage with minimal supervision.
3. data management:
o download and securely store all recorded footage.
o upload raw footage promptly for editing in adherence to project timelines.
4. collaboration:
o work closely with the restoration team to understand and capture pivotal moments.
o communicate effectively with team members to align on project goals and updates.
5. storytelling:
o integrate creative storytelling techniques to enhance the narrative of the restoration journey.
qualifications:
* proven experience as a director of photography or videographer, with a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating craftsmanship in long-term projects.
* ability to operate a variety of videography equipment, including setup of autonomous systems.
* excellent data management skills to handle a large volume of recorded files efficiently.
* strong communication skills in english, both written and verbal, to collaborate with the team and articulate creative ideas effectively.
* a keen eye for detail and the ability to capture the essence and intricacies of restoration work.
* passion for storytelling through video, with a focus on engaging and educating an audience.
preferred skills:
* experience in automotive videography or similar craftsmanship-focused projects.
* familiarity with editing software and post-production processes is a plus.
* interest or background in vintage cars or automotive restoration is advantageous.
