*about the role*:*key responsibilities*:- * tax preparation & review (70%)*- prepare *entity tax returns* (corporations, partnerships, etc.
), including foundation steps such as preparing trial balances.- prepare *individual federal and state tax returns* to ensure accuracy and compliance.- * accounting & bookkeeping*- perform *gl trial balance adjustments* as necessary.- utilize *quickbooks desktop and online* to manage and work with client financial data.- provide *bookkeeping support*, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial records.- assist in payroll department operations as needed.- * collaboration & administrative support*- work closely with the *cpa team*, contributing insights and expertise as a valued team member.- participate in *weekly team meetings* to discuss ongoing projects and priorities.- assist with *other duties* as assigned by your client.
*work schedule*:- full-time position*:40 hours per week*:- work hours*:7:00 am - 4:00 pm pacific time* (9:00 am - 6:00 pm central, depending on time of year)- * no flexible shifts* - fixed schedule monday to friday- * evening or weekend work* only with prior management approval*qualifications & skills*:- a minimum of 1 year of proven experience specifically in *u.s. tax preparation* (individual and entity tax returns).- a minimum of 3 years of full-time general accounting experience.- bilingual in spanish and english.- ability to work remotely with mínimal supervision, and ability to accurately track hours.- strong knowledge of *quickbooks desktop and online*.- must have a *preparer tax identification number (ptin)* issued by the u.s. Internal revenue service (irs).- must have experience with *general ledger adjustments* and financial reconciliations.- solid understanding of *bookkeeping and payroll processes*.- ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the cpa team.- strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.- excellent communication skills and ability to provide insights when needed
