The agile lead job leads in working with the product owner to align scheduling of activities to broader programme/epic/release requirements.
principal accountabilities:
1. facilitating the team to self-organise; enabling continuous improvement of change and run activities, aligned to the product roadmap and customer expectations.
2. responsible for the coaching and leadership responsibilities that enable agile delivery, including facilitating team meetings such as retrospectives, reviews, and planning events.
3. shield the team from interruptions during sprints to ensure that agile process doesn't impede team progress.
4. manage the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments, and changes.
5. support technology teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications, and budget.
6. work with the technology team and product owner to drive improvements in productivity through backlog management, maturity in the use of agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, kanban, lean), and corresponding management of dependencies.
7. provide management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across hsbc.
8. manage, monitor, and report progress, issues, dependencies, risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders, and/or steering committees. Make recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation.
9. enforce process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, continuous devops pipelines development.
10. help in the development and running of the program management office or project management practice.
11. ensure adherence to standard controls and drives teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability management, security controls, and technology architecture designs.
12. ensures that agile principles are supported by the relevant agile practices, and that the practices do not become 'stale'.
13. coaches the team in agile practices that they have agreed to, i.e. Standups, retrospectives, reviews, and ensures that they are followed.
14. facilitates agile and team events as agreed with the team.
15. creates a working environment where team members feel safe to raise any form of impediments to them.
16. removes impediments to optimise work throughput of the team.
17. constantly works with the product owner and business analyst to re-prioritise the backlog as and when there are changes in scope or bugs arise or any issues surface.
18. facilitates raising of risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies and escalating relevant ones through the project manager.
