Overview:
the operational excellence manager's primary goal is to promote and develop activities to ensure adherence to corporate quality and environmental policies across ww mexico operations: be the way of working and iso compliance champion for vsm.
responsibilities:
1. be mexico’s wow champion, conduct, track, and follow up on way of working audits, internal audit plan, and training at all sites.
2. be mexico’s iso champion. Coordinate the necessary activities to comply with iso 9001, 45001, and 14001 requirements across mexico sites and ensure certifications or re-certifications are achieved.
3. develop best practices on quality/environmental across our locations and areas of work, and ensure those best practices are shared and implemented across the mexico operations.
4. together with operations, develop programs/rewards to drive continuous improvement and kaizens across mexico’s sites.
5. organize and lead quality forums periodically.
6. be a key stakeholder when it comes to our quality and environmental kpi’s/okr’s.
7. collaborate with the operation department to ensure our quality policy and culture is maintained and continuously reinforced.
8. engage with our customers and operations teams to develop damage countermeasures and ensure they are implemented.
9. explore new technologies to reduce co2 emissions at the operations.
10. travelling required within mexico and sporadically abroad.
qualifications:
1. 5 years of experience managing quality, safety, sustainability, or operations in multishift manufacturing or logistics operations.
2. deep knowledge of iso 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and 45001:2018 standards, and sio9011:2028 internal auditor.
3. familiarity with quality and environmental standards.
4. hands-on, “roll-up-sleeve” attitude when reviewing issues on site.
5. good english proficiency – verbal and written communications.
6. statistical process control & lean manufacturing.
7. approachable and possess strong communication skills (written and oral) and comfort working collaboratively across all areas of our company.
8. strong problem-solving (knowledge of methods such as 5 why’s, 8 d’s, fishbone diagram), negotiation & influencing skills.
9. knowledge about how to get efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness in production processes.
10. listening skills as well as the ability to understand people's background and motives while acknowledging differences in a healthy and constructive manner.
11. national travel 50% of the time.
ability to present information and reach a constructive resolution with employees and managers from different levels.
