Job description
we are seeking a skilled and dynamic network lead to oversee and guide a team of l2 and l3 network engineers in a client-facing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational expertise in networking, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience across multiple networking technologies. This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring network operations meet client expectations while mentoring and developing the technical team.
key responsibilities
1. team management
o lead, mentor, and guide the l2 and l3 network engineers.
o manage team performance, foster professional development, and ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
o act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
2. network operations
o oversee daily network operations ensuring reliability and performance.
o implement best practices and drive operational improvements across the network environment.
o troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, minimizing downtime and impact on clients.
3. client engagement
o serve as the primary point of contact for clients ensuring high satisfaction and effective communication.
o build and maintain strong client relationships by addressing concerns proactively and delivering value-driven solutions.
4. technology management
o lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of network technologies including:
+ cisco routing and switching.
+ any sd-wan solutions (e.g., viptela, fortinet, vmware sd-wan).
+ adc load balancers (e.g., f5, citrix, or others).
+ firewalls (preferably palo alto).
5. collaborate with clients on the adoption of cloud services (aws or azure, if applicable).
6. strategic planning
o collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design, deploy, and manage strategic network initiatives.
o analyze emerging technologies and recommend upgrades to existing systems.
qualifications and skills
mandatory requirements
1. strong operational experience in managing complex networking environments.
2. proficiency in:
* cisco routing and switching technologies.
* sd-wan solutions.
* adc load balancers.
* firewalls (preferably palo alto).
* excellent verbal and written communication skills with a client-focused approach.
* proven experience in team leadership and conflict resolution.
preferred/optional qualifications
1. working knowledge of aws or azure cloud environments.
2. relevant certifications such as ccnp, sd-wan certifications, palo alto pcnse, or cloud certifications (aws/azure).
