what you’ll do
* engaging with potential clients to gather information about their technical requirements and business objectives; conducting in-depth analysis to understand their pain points and challenges.
* research and select technologies that are appropriate for the identified problems.
* conducting demonstrations and proof of concept (poc) exercises to showcase the expertise for a given service or solution. Highlight key features and functionalities that align with the client's requirements.
* offer consultancy and provide advice by referring to industry standards and best practices.
* qualify the need and understand the complete scope of an engagement so that scope creep risk is minimized.
* architecture design: develop and define the architecture for embedded systems solutions across semiconductor, wearable, and automotive applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
* technical leadership: lead technical discussions and provide guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
* solution development: oversee the implementation of embedded systems, including hardware-software integration, system validation, and performance optimization.
* compliance and standards: ensure that all solutions meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, particularly for the automotive and medical sectors if applicable.
* documentation: prepare detailed architecture and design documentation, including system diagrams, technical specifications, and user manuals.
* continuous improvement & portfolio update: update of the value proposition using the experience gained during the implementation revisit the effort estimates and calibrate them for future use, based on the real data from the actual implementation. Adjust the pricing if necessary; for solutions that were not in the portfolio, explore the option to generalize them into new business offerings.
* stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in embedded systems, proposing and implementing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
what you need to be successful
* bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, embedded systems, or a related field.
* 8+ years of experience in embedded systems development or architecture.
* experience in semiconductor, wearable, and/or automotive industries is highly preferred.
* previous experience in a customer-facing technical role.
* in-depth understanding of embedded software development using c/c++, including development for real-time operating systems (rtos) and linux environments.
* practical experience in autosar frameworks for automotive software development.
* solid knowledge of hardware design principles and proficiency with microcontrollers (e.g., infineon, nxp, renesas) and microprocessor architectures (arm, x86, risc-v).
* ability to interpret schematics and understand hardware design.
* experience with system-on-chip (soc) platforms and hardware-software integration.
* familiarity with embedded peripherals, like spi, can, ethernet, adc, pwm, dma, watchdog, etc.
* understanding of safety and compliance standards, such as iec 61508 or equivalent for industrial systems.
* familiarity with system modeling and architectural design using rhapsody or uml, sysml).
* knowledge of agile development methodologies and tools (jira, safe).
* familiarity with automotive software and hardware standards, classic and adaptive autosar is nice to have, but not mandatory.
* experience with embedded operating systems, such as embedded linux, qnx, freertos and zephyr.
* hands-on experience with debugging ecu and ecu integration.
* experience in cloud-connected embedded systems (iot), including working with rest apis and mqtt protocols.
* familiarity with ai/ml applications in embedded and iot environments.
* experience with industrial iot protocols (e.g., opc ua) and cloud platforms for iot.
* knowledge of cryptographic standards for embedded security and data protection.
