purpose
responsibilities
this is a key it management position within the global it service delivery & operations team with the following main responsibilities:
1. it business relationship partner: build the relationship between it and the business and senior stakeholders to become a trusted it business partner enabling copeland's business goals through the effective use of information technology infrastructure capabilities and services.
2. solution provider: support the business in providing standardized site services and end-user support aligned with business requirements; own all non-standard it requests and ensure that they are routed, and ownership transferred for optimum success.
3. it infrastructure manager: actively contribute to the implementation of the global it infrastructure strategy. Manage the it and telecommunications infrastructure for the world area ensuring the standardization & security are in line with the global it strategy & policy.
4. communicator: be an ambassador for it, working across the business to provide effective communication on it matters and build relationships with other teams to ensure effective dialogue.
5. resource manager: manage it resources and managed service providers and take full advantage of centrally provided it services to ensure that agreed slas are met.
specific responsibilities
site services & end-user support
1. act as a focal point for all it infrastructure issues within the area and ensure engagement with the appropriate it group.
2. agree slas with the business and the central it infrastructure organizations/services and ensure the level of service is achieved and reported on.
3. ensure optimum support for end-users at all times within agreed service levels and act as the owner/escalation point for issue resolution between the business and the it community.
4. work closely with the enterprise it infrastructure team to ensure that the agreed strategy is implemented and that locations follow and control the implementation of hw, sw, and telecommunication standards.
5. ensure appropriate application/infrastructure security, performance, and availability (including site disaster recovery planning).
6. ensure that relevant it documentation is maintained and complies with all legal and security requirements.
planning & administration
1. key contributor to the global it infrastructure strategy along with the management team.
2. annual it budget preparation, based on current expected and it plans using standard processes as defined by management; conduct appropriate budget/cost control and follow-up.
3. enforce copeland it policies and rules regarding it management, security, standards, and procedures.
4. working with the it procurement team, coordinate it investment within the given doa and the ar process.
resource management
1. supervision and coordination of managed service provider partner delivering site services in latin america.
2. in collaboration with the central infrastructure team, develop, coordinate/manage projects aimed at improving and/or reducing costs of the it environment.
3. lead, motivate, and coach the it support team, set and review objectives, and organize regular performance and improvement meetings with staff and management.
communication
1. communicate it strategy and plans to the business leaders and managers and act as the bridge between users and it infrastructure implementation/support teams.
2. establish good working relationships with country and local management, end-users, and other sources of support and assistance.
3. attend management team meetings to understand business plans and issues and communicate these back to the it community.
requirements
education
1. college/university degree in a related field or experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
experience
1. minimum of 10 years’ experience in it / it management.
2. previous experience within a matrix organization with direct people management.
3. previous experience in working with high-level management and/or executive leadership.
4. previous experience in leading remote teams within a larger area, setting development objectives, providing guidance and coaching.
other requirements
1. fluent in english and spanish.
2. availability to travel in the designated region up to 20% of the time.
3. flexible approach to working hours.
