- requirements*:responsibilities*:
verato is seeking to hire a senior data engineer for its software-as-a-service business.
the senior data engineer will be a key member of our technology team, specifically focusing on building out data pipelines that incorporate externally-sourced partner datasets into verato's reference data assets.
he/she will work closely with other agile engineering teams in verato's development organization.
data engineers will be expected to implement and stay abreast of industry best practices regarding data architecture, security, privacy, data lakes, and analytics.
the senior data engineer will be expected to do the following:
- develop and maintain data pipelines that feed verato's reference datasets across our patient, consumer and provider offerings
- ensure continuous operation of the pipelines supporting existing reference datasets
- streamline the ingestion of new datasets as we grow our portfolio of partners
- define and promote best-practice data architectures for ingesting data from external suppliers
- communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements describe data engineering strategy
*requirements*:
*to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, the following is required*:
- 5+ years of related work experience in data engineering and developing data pipelines
- 3+ years working with aws and the aws portfolio of data technologies: s3, glue, rds, athena, kinesis, documentdb, elasticsearch, etc.
- strong proficiency in python and 3+ years working with python
- experience with externally-sourced data
- experience writing jenkins scripts
- experience working in software development organizations using agile methodologies and ci/cd processes
- strong oral and written communication skills; fluency in both spoken and written english
- ability to work from verato's merida office
preferred qualifications:
- experience in a pci/hipaa/hitrust/soc2 -type 2 compliant environment or similar environment with phi/pii
- experience with consumer data suppliers such as experian, axciom, epsilon, etc.
- experience with sql and cloud data warehouse technologies such as snowflake or redshift
bachelor's degree in technical field
