job duties and responsibilities:
1. supervise and coordinate the activities of indirect or direct buyers where applicable.
2. release purchase orders in sap.
3. release down payments in basware.
4. supplier development for new materials.
5. relocate suppliers.
6. negotiate with suppliers to seek improvements in prices, quality, delivery times, and payment conditions.
7. develop and implement savings initiatives.
8. comply with ergonomic standards in daily work.
9. comply with safety requirements and supervise that the team meets safety needs as required by the hse department.
10. supervise and coordinate commitment to good practices regarding environmental care.
11. participate in hse and qc activities and initiatives as required.
supervisory responsibility: supervises activities of buyers under their charge.
travel: the position requires constant travel.
qualifications:
1. education: bachelor's degree in accounting, administration, business management, or engineering is required.
2. experience: 5 to 6 years in similar positions within the manufacturing, automotive, or mass consumption industry.
3. knowledge and skills: sap and microsoft office system management, advanced excel, supplier negotiation skills, supplier development, effective communication, project management.
essential physical functions and work environment: must often remain in a stationary position for a long part of the day or be exposed to adverse weather conditions during travel.
