- support launch teams through supply chain planning development
- plan for every part (pfep), purchasing loop
- support warehouse set up and space planning
- interface with sourcing, production control, and logistics
- planning in order to balance supply demand and inventory requirements
- develop sourcing recommendations with supporting rationale and documentation
- identify and implement cost savings through spend analysis, supplier negotiations, business resourcing, and other purchasing methods
- participate as an extended member of the purchasing commodity team regarding commodity strategy, minority business strategy, supplier consolidation, and cost savings
- support manufacturing operations and quality department with supplier issue resolution
- administrate purchase orders/po release and vendor master information and lead times in the erp system
- support suppliers and account payables in invoice resolution
- comply with purchasing policies/procedures, as well as legal/ethical obligations
- manage issues involving materials, risk, and terms for resolution and/or escalation
*qualifications*
- 4 year degree with a purchasing, supply chain management, business, materials
- ability to analyze complex data, identify and execute savings opportunities, implement sourcing strategies, and quickly execute tasks to realize benefits
- ability to multi-task multiple categories & projects. Ability to coordinate strategies/activities across multiple business functions
- financial & quantitative analysis experience a plus.
- problem solving skills essential
- verbal and written skills - ability to communicate to all levels of management required
- good negotiation and problem solving skills. Adept at dealing with situations involving conflict, and able to facilitate constructive resolution
- must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs.

this team is responsible for the purchasing function of the organization. They focuse on longer-term strategic resource needs, allocations and results and develop and implement strategies and policies that help the organization obtain necessary products and services while minimizing costs. They establish/maintain a global sourcing strategy that ensure a consistent supply of goods and services. They develop/administer criteria to be used during vendor evaluation and selection.
