the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the government sales budget, excellence in tender management and access inclusions in the government institutions; by leading the operations of government-commercial tenders, and access activities with the internal and external teams.
this position works closely in cooperation with key internal stakeholders and government influencers.

responsibilities:drive government channel revenue, new contracts, purchases and repurchases and cash collection of ultragenyx mexico's portfolio.lead effective commercial (government and private sector) and access analysis in partnership with ucls team, strategy development, and coalition building to support ultragenyx's policy objectives and business goals.implement and develop strategic and operative initiatives with the area director, including business plans, brand access, and monitoring metrics.efficiently implement the inclusion process before the general health council and health institutions.manage health institutions and lead the bidding processes for each project at the local and central level with adequate monitoring of each of these.monitor changes within moh and hcis and collaborate with main stakeholders, to support fast access and proper follow up.identify routes to strengthening relationships from a medical-administrative perspective to payors and government sales management initiatives.establish strategic working relationships with key local and national/central opinion leaders who can influence access to and reimbursement for medicines.coordinate and co-lead each access and reimbursement project with the team.lead all operative processes with the distribution partner & stakeholders and determine the market tools most suitable for monitoring displacement and growth.support and fully accompany the ultragenyx team to unlock reimbursement opportunities.support director in creating specific promotional material to educate payers on the disease status of the population and formularies for new products.provide advice and guidance to the ucl team on business opportunities.analyze multiple problems and access situations, providing recommendations and leading the planning of any required action.ensure that all market access and reimbursement activities comply with legal requirements.ensure that adequate level of inventories in the channel.requirements:minimum – bachelor's degree (health, economics or administrative careers) with 3-5+ years of rare diseases (ideally) or highly specialized healthcare and business skills experience.preferred – master's degree in science or business mba and/or medical degree.strong business acumen, allowing the successful candidate to understand business drivers for individual product and translate them into solid value propositions.excellent leadership and communication skills, allowing the candidate to be effective in working with local team and senior management.market access and government affairs knowledge expertise.ability to collaborate with different stakeholders to achieve the same goals.demonstrated experience effectively presenting clinical/scientific & commercial proposals information required and value-added propositions.approximately 70% travel is required; overnight travel is required as needed.english at a minimum to understand commercial and access plans and medical literature.the position will be based in mexico city, mexico.
