*what you will be doing*:
a successful *database administrator* will be responsible for:
- ensuring smooth system operation and uptime by owning, tracking, troubleshooting, and resolving database related incidents.
- maintaining databases through activities including installation, administration, maintenance, patches, and system copies/refreshes.
- performance-related activities including system performance tuning, monitoring, and query optimization
- performing capacity planning and backup and recovery.
- troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication, log, connectivity, and security issues.
- understanding how to properly recommend disk space, ram and cpu capacities related to “sizing” database environments.
- understanding middleware and connectivity options used in conjunction with the database and sap erp systems.
- creating and maintaining documentation on all procedures, systems, and practices.
- recommending architecture and standards for database architecture.
- embracing agile/scrum and devops methods to improve database activities.
- partnering with other internal teams such as network, server, and devops to coordinate and accomplish goals and tasks.
- technical components of the position includes such tools and technologies as
- databases: oracle (exadata 12c/18c/19c), sql server, hana
- operating systems: linux (oracle and rhel)
- other: shell scripting, python, database performance tuning, archiving strategies, backup and recovery, ms office suite, ms azure devops, etc
*who you are*:
- self-directed and has high initiative to join our team of database administrators and architects.
- you should have both strong technical, critical thinking, and people skills to join our team.
- must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused, to understand and appropriately respond to customers business needs.
*qualifications*:
- bachelor’s in it or related is required.
- advanced english is a must.
- 2-5 years of working experience in database administration on an erp platform, sap preferred.
- oracle certification is a plus.
- microsoft certification is a plus.
- experience working in an agile (scrum) environment preferred.
- experience in at least one of oracle, mssql or sap hana and a willingness to learn all environments.
- experience with database environments consisting of test, development, qa, and production environments in single or multi-tiered deployments.
