this role requires experience and knowledge of current payroll laws and rules and for the person to be a self-starter, highly accurate and detailed oriented. Payroll responsibilities (50%): - accurate and timely process of bi-weekly payroll for multi-state, multicompany, 336 employees, using ukg workforce management software. Review proper reporting of time within payroll system. - manages payroll operations and activities of workers engaged in recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics and maintaining payroll control records. - processing payroll taxes, calculating and remitting payroll taxes to the appropriate authorities, including federal, state, and local tax agencies. - interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures and directs preparation of government reports. Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy. - review and approve quarterly payroll returns. - process wage garnishments, benefits, and tax withholdings according to federal and state wage and hour laws. - prepare manual checks as needed. - process termination checks in adherence to state
