develop and implement annual strategies for the purchase of raw materials and services, corresponding to the connectivity and cable solutions (ccs) division. Handle and ensure productivity, quality, inventory control, timely delivery, savings, and supplier performance based on metrics established by the company. This position is responsible for aligning the strategy and coordinating execution in combination with other departments such as engineering, manufacturing, sales and other teams. Advises efforts towards acquiring driven negotiations for all required materials and services, always passionate about continuous improvement. Demonstrate an authority level in the supply chain, negotiations, supply strategy, development and execution, modernization, project management, and its life cycle. Ensures that all suppliers align with existing corporate standards and policies, environmental compliance and protection of the social environment. Conducts periodic reviews of suppliers to ensure compliance in accordance with commscope policies and procedures.
duties and responsibilities
responsible for the materials supply chain, supports the introduction of new products, and will also play a meaningful role in manufacturing process transitions, product relocations and cost reductions as well as new project opportunities.

responsible for developing suppliers according to market needs, with a focus on supporting ccs operations that includes the location and development of local suppliers and solutions.
provide support to the requirements of manufactured parts as a critical part of the solution for the products.
supplier development strategy
with regional operations leaders, direct supervisor, raw material buyers and leaders of the different regions, build strategies by region for the supply of raw materials.
ensure that supply strategies and plans will provide the vital support for the organization (ccs).
ensure that all suppliers and sourcing strategies are in accordance with the “true total cost” strategy, including inventory, transportation, customs, import taxes and time costs.
actively participate and influence the acquisition of materials that impact regional manufacturing in conjunction with the corporate. Such participation covers the present and future needs of ccs in sync with regional needs according to the company's direction.
strategic processes
responsible for the identification and analysis of an existing and potential group of regional suppliers for commscope/connectivity and cable solutions including centralized and decentralized materials and services.
responsible for working directly with customers, operations teams (planning, engineering, purchasing) and research and development teams to ensure strategies with suppliers, for a specific set of direct materials aligned with the product and customer needs. .
negotiate and control regional prices for all raw materials competitively, as well as sourcing activities for a specific group of materials.
ensure that the prices and level of services required by the ccs business unit are reflected in the final contracts with suppliers.
keep the erp system updated (prices, delivery times, minimum purchase quantities, selected supplier, payment terms, etc.)
ensure that the documentation and administration process of contracts with suppliers stays in sync with global and regional specifications, allowing everything negotiated in terms of prices, terms and conditions to be clear by all supply teams in each of the unit business.
ensure that contracts are renegotiated and renewed before the expiration date.
ensure that the supply chain in terms of specific materials generates savings in raw materials in the annual plan.
actively work on identification of new projects, analysis and risk adjustment of this supply chain.
maintain the relationship with suppliers for specific suppliers contracted by ccs. Conduct periodic reviews with suppliers to ensure that contract-based performance and continuous improvement are taking place.
work with regional leaders and vital departments to develop an evaluation and reporting mechanism for all suppliers, to maintain feedback and clarity of their performance within the organization and be able to compare it against expectations.
serve as a point of reference with suppliers who do not follow the provisions of the contracts or who perform less than what was agreed in the contract. This includes failures in quality, performance and other failures of the terms and conditions.
send feedback from the different ccs sites in which it operates, regarding the performance of suppliers, based on the site's key initiatives and other requirements vital to maintain the supply base.
control expenses, materials and raw materials to achieve the performance metrics applicable to the sourcing department: annual savings in material costs (in % savings), vmi/crp (in % savings), supplier quality ppm/z2 and on-time deliveries against otp (delivery against original planned date for delivery of materials) and otd (delivery against supplier promise date).
internal relationships with: engineering, quality, human resources, planning, purchasing, materials, maintenance, design, operations and sales
required qualifications for consideration
bachelor’s degree in business, industrial engineering or related.
excellent level of english 95% (verbal and written)
focused on purchasing strategies is required.
experience in negotiations.
certified purchasing manager or cpim designation or 8+ years of experience in purchasing/supplier areas with functional experience in large multinational companies focused on product manufacturing. The experience be related to the purchase of raw and manufactured materials, as well as the technical understanding that this requires. Able to adapt and perform optimally in this position in a short period of time.
validated experience in running suppliers in various geographic regions (asia, europe, america).
proven track record of achieving positive results in the purchasing department/supply chain, such as cost reduction or improved supplier performance.
validated persuasion skills to obtain positive results at all levels of the organization.
vast experience leading and positively influencing cross-functional teams and significant projects in a timely and appropriate manner.
excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in 1-1 and group situations. Ability to evaluate situations and prioritize depending on needs, capable of maintaining balance in an environment of rapid change and full workloads. Strong problem-solving skills in functional areas of production, as well as in interpersonal situations in the work team.
