the collections specialist 3 performs a variety of assignments with limited complexity, primarily focused on the accuracy of tasks. Works under general supervision and established procedures, servicing a range of products/services. Applies detailed knowledge of specialized administrative/technical skills and understands how duties relate to others in the team/unit. Exchanges moderately complex information with others and uses experience and judgment to make decisions within standard protocols.
responsibilities:
1. perform collection specialist 2 duties and utilize advanced negotiation skills to resolve delinquency issues.
2. research problems such as skip tracing to develop external contacts.
3. share knowledge with less experienced collectors.
4. interpret procedures and choose among alternative actions to resolve delinquencies.
5. support a range of products/services and ensure accuracy in tasks.
6. increase recovery of past due portfolios across different collection portfolios.
7. comply with operational goals and parameters.
8. ensure adherence to quality objectives and institutional policies.
9. provide telephone collection services to clients.
10. foster an exceptional client experience, measured by specific metrics.
11. assess risk appropriately in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and ethical standards; escalate and report control issues transparently.
qualifications:
* ability to work under pressure, make decisions, solve problems, and negotiate.
* focus on client needs and organizational issues with frustration tolerance.
* minimum 1 year of experience.
education:
* high school diploma or equivalent.
