main responsibilities:
* supervise inventory control for raw materials, intermediate goods, and finished products.
* ensure proper reception, storage, and dispatch of products according to production and customer needs.
* conduct regular inventory audits and prepare reports on inventory status.
* coordinate transportation logistics for both suppliers and customers, ensuring optimized routes and cost efficiency.
* monitor delivery times and quality of service from carriers and third parties involved.
* propose and implement improvements in logistics processes, always aiming for efficiency and cost/time reduction.
* apply best practices in the supply chain and ensure compliance with logistics and transportation policies.
* follow up on purchase orders and ensure the quality of supplied materials, always seeking operational cost efficiency.
* periodically report on the department’s performance and the evolution of logistics costs.
* coordinate and supervise the logistics team, including warehouse, transportation, and distribution staff.
* ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and proper staff training.
* ensure compliance with current legal regulations regarding safety, transportation, and material storage.
* manage the necessary permits and certifications for the appropriate handling of products and environmental regulations.
* coordinate with other departments, such as production, sales, and administration, to ensure on-time deliveries and meet internal client expectations.
experience and requirements:
* degree in industrial engineering, logistics, business administration, or related fields.
* (additional training in supply chain management or advanced logistics is a plus.)
* master’s degree (preferred).
* minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics roles within the metal-mechanical or related sectors.
* advanced conversational english.
work competencies:
* previous experience in inventory, transportation, and distribution management.
* ability to manage owned and/or subcontracted fleets.
* experience with transportation management systems (tms), gps tools, etc.
required knowledge:
* knowledge of inventory management and related technologies (erp, inventory management software, etc.).
* understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
* knowledge of inventory control techniques (fifo, lifo, periodic and cycle inventories).
* experience in planning and coordinating transportation routes.
* familiarity with current legislation related to freight transportation and road safety.
technical skills:
* proficiency in erp systems (such as sap, oracle, microsoft dynamics, etc.) for managing inventory, purchasing, sales, and supply chain control.
* proficiency in microsoft office suite (excel – intermediate level, powerpoint, word).
