general purpose of job: the maintenance supervisor performs administrative, supervisory, and manual tasks to assure proper operation and maintenance.
responsibilities:
1. report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, resourcing, critical issues, and actions necessary to ensure success.
2. oversee all aspects of site maintenance, possibly with specialist teams (mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic, etc.).
3. work with managers, other stakeholders, and their maintenance team to ensure safe equipment operations and maximize reliability while minimizing costs.
4. responsible for all the people (including contractors), equipment, tools, spare parts, and materials in area of responsibility.
5. prepare and approve preventative maintenance and other plans, allocate work to their teams, oversee progress, solve problems, and take corrective action when required.
6. prepare reports and briefs on equipment, safety, progress on projects, and other matters.
7. lead and participate in meetings and briefings, both formal and informal.
8. work with the engineering department on equipment performance and operations.
9. train and develop their maintenance team, with support from engineering manager and human resource (hr) specialists.
10. work with maintenance team and hr department to avoid and resolve personnel issues and grievances.
11. liaise with suppliers and consultants.
12. lead and manage the implementation and continuous improvement of the reliability program and predictive and preventive procedures.
13. develop and coach employees in order to retain and grow organizational talent.
14. track preventive maintenance program using micromain.
15. track and provide actions to improve mtbf, mttr, and % dt.
qualifications:
1. 3+ years’ experience in maintenance is required.
2. must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
3. ability to delegate work to achieve results.
4. have a deep level of understanding and respect for legislation, regulations, and procedures concerning safety, employment, and environmental protection.
5. maintenance software experience is required (mp, micromain, sap, etc.).
6. maintenance knowledge in facilities equipment (chillers, hvac, electrical substation, compressors).
