Reporting to the network operations shift supervisor,the network operations center (noc) senior technician workscollaboratively with infrastructure, operations and applicationteams to help ensure the stable operation, reliability, andsecurity of infrastructure and critical systems.
the noc seniortechnician will provide support, guidance, direction anddevelopmental skills to the noc team under the direction of the nocshift supervisor.
they will lead the team to analyze and resolveinfrastructure and connectivity issues in a timely and accuratefashion, with the assistance of operations and application teams asneeded.
the noc senior technician will help guide and develop teamtraining material where required.
the noc senior technician willprovide technical oversight to the noc team during major incidents,ensuring support procedures are followed.
key responsibilities: •assist in leading less experienced team members to ensure bestpractices for monitoring and support of requested applications arefollowed • monitor the availability of critical systems,datacenters, and hardware that is crucial to day to day operationsby using the designated monitoring solutions.
• provide technicalguidance to the noc team during major incidents • perform trendanalysis on monitoring alarms, incident reports and service ticketsto resolve identified issues.
• respond to colleagues who haveescalated questions/issues in a timely manner.
• develop monitorsand other solutions through the use of scripting languages,monitoring tools and other available technologies • participate inmonitoring the availability of systems and datacenters that arecrucial to day to day operations through the use of suite ofmonitoring solutions • participate in troubleshooting system andnetwork performance through knowledge of tcp/ip and networkingprinciples, as well as web technologies • continually identifies,implements and improves effective processes and procedures toensure overall client satisfaction.
• participate in developing themonitoring and escalation procedures of new services.
• developshell scripts to accomplish redundant tasks to simplify indistributed administration.

other duties,responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/orassigned as necessary qualifications: • bachelor's degree preferred• 5+ years of system administration experience in a unixenvironment (preferably linux).
previous experience leading in ahelp desk environment supporting unix operations is preferred •strong knowledge of tcp/ip and networking principles as well as webtechnologies data center experience with on-premise, private/publiccloud, and vendor managed hosting • strong knowledge of in-housetools such as nagios, microsoft scom, splunk, datadog, vmware, andservicenow • experience with traditional 3 tiered applications(web, app, db) a plus • experience with docker/kubernetes • abilityto effectively correlate incidents and clearly communicate impactand activities • ability to conduct research into software orhardware issues and products as required • ability to performanalysis, define new processes and drive technology initiatives andprojects • experience working in a team-oriented, collaborativeenvironment • ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and supporttechnologies related to infrastructure systems and applications •demonstrable skills working change management activities •experienced in the development of operational procedures, processesand scripts • demonstrates leadership skills that include, customerfocus, change management, teamwork, diversity, integrity •proficiency in all microsoft office tools, including microsoftproject • works well under pressure • holds self personallyaccountable for results • passion for uptime and experience ine-commerce environments • must be available to support in a 24x7production environment education: • itil v3 (or current) certifiedpreferred • bachelor degree or equivalent experience experience: •looking for someone who has a lot of monitoring experience as wellas scripting.

• 5+ yearsof experience within the noc space.
