global commercial services (gcs) serves millions of business customers around the world, from mom-and-pop shops to approximately 70% of the s&p 500. how will you make an impact in this role?
the incumbent in this position is responsible for managing a local portfolio of 15+ holdings, by increasing penetration by industry/product, and bringing new volume (ecv). The candidate will develop and implement strategies/initiatives for account development and achieve business growth goals. Being liaison between amex gcg organization and clients across the region. Direct and control activities of cross-functional teams throughout amex regional and global network, actively managing overall timelines and ensuring that service level agreements are monitored and achieved. Lead all aspects pertaining to account management/development, including project management and event execution.
responsibilities:
1. in-depth knowledge of commercial card business
2. financial & business acumen
3. being able to articulate sales pitch and overall interactions with clients and amex global colleagues.
4. provide consultancy and act as the main liaison between the client and the amex organization to ensure a smooth operation of the corporate program.
5. requires analytical & strategic thinking, driving results, and excellent project management skills.
6. understand regional strategic (opportunities, threats) and tactical (e.g, risk, contract, fees) aspects of accounts in portfolio.
7. ability to quickly understand the complexity and nuances of amex products across the region and their resources.
8. develop and strengthen relationships at senior levels of client organization.
9. ability to collaborate and influence internally and externally.
10. pipeline management experience.
11. ensure the correct implementation of the amex program according to the client needs.
minimum qualifications
1. 3+ years of experience in commercial role, preferably in business/account development.
2. financial & business knowledge.
3. highly proficient in english (written and spoken).
4. develop and strengthen relationships at all levels of client organization.
5. structured methodology for relationship management.
6. ability to develop and strengthen business relationships at decision maker levels.
7. self-motivated and strong collaboration skills.
8. excellent negotiations and influencing skills.
9. ability to collaborate and influence internally and externally.
10. ability to quickly understand the complexity and nuances of amex products/processes and resources and resolve for any issue.
11. ability to build and motivate relationship management team.
12. demonstrate effective oral and written presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners.
