*the role*:
the role of the pmo analyst is to provide administrative support to consulting projects, programmes and consulting assignments of a varied scale, size and complexity aligned to core consulting areas. To ensure the smooth delivery of the projects the analyst provides support to the project manager and / or programme director by managing and monitoring the project governance and documentation this will including organising meetings, documenting actions, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and assumptions, monitoring progress and maintaining project documentation accordingly. The pmo analyst will also be responsible for providing project status updates, responding to client requests for information and reporting on the project’s resource utilisation and spend.
In addition to providing pmo support to projects, the pmo analyst is also responsible for knowledge management within strategy consulting. This will include, but not limited to, building and maintaining the pmo toolkit, keeping the team’s sharepoint updated with in progress and new documentation, ensuring that all team members are using the standardised templates as designed, identifying opportunities for improvement / innovation and training the team where appropriate. From time to time the role will require travel to client sites or other ams premises.
*key accountabilities*:

- supports team to help deliver tasks on time. Carefully proof-reads, formats and checks outputs before release
- tracks team utilisation on projects and ensure that this is recorded carefully by all team members
- points team members and clients or other internal stakeholders (if appropriate) to best practice documentation particularly around project management, to aid adoption of standardised tools and techniques across the business
- client focus
- develops and maintains project governance and documentation such as, but not limited to, contact lists, holiday trackers, raid and project raci’s ensuring that individual roles are clearly articulated and understood across the project
- delivers regular status reports to the client in a timely and appropriate manner as dictated by the agreed project governance, ensuing all risks are escalated to the program / project leadership and mitigation plans assigned as appropriate
- responds quickly and appropriately to client requests and the requests of program / project leadership, and workstream leads
- team
- provides valuable administrative support to the strategy consulting team
- is a useful point of reference within the team on present and historic projects
- ensure the global head of strategy consulting & pmo, and / or the pmo manager, consulting is constantly aware of any relevant issues
- specialist / technical expertise
- manages the strategy consulting sharepoint / ms teams site. Knows how to add new sites, site parts, content and manage users
- has the ability to set-up a project plan (msp and excel) and ensure constant maintenance of under guidance from the project leader and inputs from workstream leads / smes
- identifies and addresses risks at the earliest opportunities ensuring mitigating actions are assigned and adhered to in order to prevent issues arising which can affect or have the potential to affect project / program delivery. Aiming to minimise escalation beyond own level, but has an understanding of when risks require escalation management
- has a good understanding of process related documentation and the various symbols used to denote different actions within a process map and / or standard operating process
- able to provide clear and concise regular updates on the project such that progress is clearly understood and any issues / challenged acknowledged by a variety of stakeholders with differing levels of project knowledge
- can adapt talent collective tools and approaches to suit the client’s environment and own approaches
