seeking a manager/specialist to assist with all aspects related to composite management and gips compliance support. The core function of the role involves implementing the firm’s policies & procedures as it relates to compliance with the cfa institute’s global performance presentation standards (gips®). this role will interact with various groups across the firm including portfolio management, client management, product strategy, business development services, marketing, legal and technology in a fast-paced, high energy, and demanding team-oriented environment. Seeking candidates who are results-driven, innovative and adaptable with strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels.
key responsibilities
• facilitating composite construction and maintenance in statpro
• ensuring the accuracy and integrity of composite membership and calculations
• understanding of various types of performance calculations and statistics
• interpret investment guidelines to translate into composite construction rules
• researching and resolving monthly performance outliers
• preparing and reviewing annual gips composite reports
• documenting processes and ensuring adherence to established gips policies & procedures
• supporting the firm wide verification process through compiling requested supporting documentation
• reviewing standard presentations or marketing materials where composite information is included
• liaise with internal client facing teams to address ad-hoc gips and composite data requests
• proactively drive improvements across various performance reporting processes
• perform user acceptance testing and validation for system upgrades/enhancements
• training/education across the firm on gips compliance and requirements
• support outsourcing initiatives and vendor relationships
position requirements
• bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or mathematics
• minimum of 5 years of gips or performance analytics experience
• strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
• strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex data in a concise manner
• detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and produce high quality, accurate work in a time sensitive manner
• self-starter that can work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple projects, assignments and/or responsibilities
• strong project management skills (e.g., defining scope, setting project timelines and milestones, managing responsibilities of concurrent work streams/projects, driving completion of deliverables, identifying risks, managing issues, and addressing stakeholder expectations)
• manage deliverables effectively, ability to manage expectations with business partners and prioritize urgent tasks
• strong process-orientation with a client-servicing mind-set
• demonstrated understanding of fixed income and alternative investment strategies
• advanced analytical and data management skills (excel usage, macro writing, database queries, etc.)
• cipm designation preferred
