job description
cimmyt is seeking a professional for the position of global training manager. The successful candidate will oversee in-house and external training activities, including the coordination of effective communications across cimmyt to support these activities.
the positions will be based at cimmyt's headquarters in texcoco, near mexico city.
key responsibilities:
* develop a strategic and global training approach for research/science and administrative personnel.
* lead training program development for cimmyt globally, including leadership programs.
* review individual performance review summaries in collaboration with department or program leaders; combine results with training survey data to refine training course requirements.
* collaborate with cimmyt academy on establishing a diverse and strategic training offer for staff and internal trainings.
* establish goals for learning outcomes and report progress against defined goals and training objectives periodically.
* identify potential external training providers; lead the selection process, and manage training vendor relationships.
* design the content and coordinate the involvement of cimmyt-wide resources to provide the induction training program.
* collaborate with the finance, risk and compliance teams to provide training on topics selected to address cimmyt identified risks.
requirements:
* m.a. in education related studies, organizational development, international hr management, business administration or other related field of study.
* 10 or more years of progressive hr experience in a global environment, preferably in hr development or hr organizational development.
* 5 or more years of hr training experience.
* general hr background and experience. Ability to support general hr operations.
* ability to act as an internal advisor and business partner to determine overall needs, then plan and implement effective solutions.
* proven experience in applying a high-level understanding of modern teaching principles, resulting in the creation of dynamic program solutions (systems and protocols), in classroom and e-learning environments.
* high level of intercultural awareness with international experience in hr, having been exposed to various cultures.
* proven experience in applying teaching tools or platforms to increase training efficiency and create more engaging curricula.
* excellent computer skills, advanced use of ms office, and experience with hr erp and learning management systems.
* advanced level of english. English will be tested, and candidate should score a minimum of c1 on cefr.
* excellent communication skills in english and spanish, with good negotiation, closing skills, and listening skills.
* proven managerial competencies in change management, relationship with external stakeholders, and people management.
