- job purpose:
- plans and prepares production programs for the manufacture of industrial or consumer products, to comply with the master production plan of the assigned area through maximizing productivity levels.
- analysis, balancing (inventory, machine utilization) and management of supply vs demand.
- resolution of supply chain issues to ensure timely material, machine, manpower availability to achieve business plans and objectives.
- management of optimum inventory levels to achieve business targets.- responsibilities and accountabilities:
- plans and prepares production programs for the manufacture of industrial or consumer products.
- prepare the production program to establish the sequence and time required for each operation to meet the shipping dates in accordance with sales forecasts and customer orders.
- analyze the production requirements regarding direct personnel and processes to optimize the available capacity of your area.
- accelerates the operations that are delaying the program and alters the programs according to unforeseen conditions.
- prepare production reports.
- maintains the organization's standard operating procedures (sop).
- compliance and participating in all smiths interconnect's ehs programs, policies, procedures and training requirements.
- developing and maintaining optimal key internal and external relationships - purchase order and work order management including data accuracy, order placement, supplier confirmations, overdues, reschedules, exceptions, non-direct and direct material ordering, managing outside operation etc.
- prompt and efficient resolution of supply constraint situations and critical shortages to ensure the on-time availability of materials and capacity to achieve business goals and objectives.
- proactive identification of future supply chain risks / capacity constraints and the generation / implementation of corrective actions to resolve - close co-operation and communication of material/capacity constraints with internal stakeholders - optimisation of inventory levels whilst assuring sufficient days of supply.
- optimisation of machine utilizations - support supply chain improvement projects as required.
- master data management and accuracy (i.e.
lead time, routing hour, work order and open purchase order book, supply & demand signalling process and rescheduling per business needs- general activities:
- develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- management of daily / weekly mrp output including work order & purchase order placement, work order & purchase order reschedules and exception reporting.
- management of the open work order & purchase order book including data accuracy of open orders, supplier & production confirmation and continuous control of unconfirmed & overdue orders.
- proactive shortage risk identification, management, status reporting and follow up actions.
- production shortage risk reporting & communication / escalation (daily & weekly) - contact point for internal stakeholders regarding the resolution of supply chain issues.
- owning and managing the day-to-day relationships with the supply base, facilitating close co-operation through regular verbal communication and feedback - identification and implementation of alternative sources of supply as required to resolve material risk situations (supported by category team as required) - minimization of excess and obsolete material and implementation of action plans to reduce.
- management & maintenance of relevant safety stocks - ensure compliance to internal policies and procedures.
- support the wider supply chain team and actively engage in the achievement of team objectives including cost savings, process improvements, supplier performance, supply chain improvements etc.- technical knowledge, skills and abilities:
- more than 2 years of experience in the planning area, working knowledge of supply chain management and associated processes - extensive knowledge and experience of mrp systems - advanced english language 80-95% (reading and writing that allow fluent presentations and projects and / or participation in negotiation processes) - advanced computer skills including ms office: word, excel, power point, etc.)
