Essential duties and responsibilities - infiltrateassigned client(s) by building a close professional relationshipwith all decision makers in terms of transportation and logistics.- work closely with local operations team, key account managers andregional account manager (ram) to ensure all service expectationsare being met.
- understand client's problems and challenges, whilelooking for opportunities to design, offer, sell and implementcompetitive logistics and supply chain solutions related but notlimited to: air freight, ocean freight, domestic trucking, customsbrokerage, project management, rigging, and assembly.
- provideprompt and compelling service proposals to address client'srequirements, earn trust from client and reduce/eliminate client'swillingness to look for quotations from competitors or to launchrfq processes.
- develop account-specific growth strategy andmetrics to track success.
- develop relationships with current andnew prospective suppliers to ensure service proposals arecompetitive for the client and profitable for mec.
ensure thatreputable suppliers in place for handling day to day cross borderand trucking needs.
- become knowledgeable on mec's capabilitiesand success stories within the client's industry of focus.
-develop new customer relationships with companies within theindustry of focus and geographically related to the district/areawhere employee is located.
- drive contract management process andbe responsible for accurately and timely quotations for assignedcustomers using general tariffs provided by product leaders andbased on knowledge of customer buying triggers and/or target/marketrates.
must work closely with director of account management, salesheads, and ops to ensure that all pricing is aligned as needed.
-responsible to develop, maintain, train, certify, and re-certifyall full time, part time, and 3rd party payroll employees whohandle assigned customers on csops (customer specific operatingprocedures).
- define and implement client specific sop's andensure that they are being adhered to throughout the mecorganization at regional and local levels.
- responsible forensuring that all customer requested milestones and metrics arebeing met to exceed client expectations.
work closely with originor destination stations to identify and solve any root cause issuesthat may be leading to service failures.
- organize and lead localcustomer business reviews.

management responsibilities - this position couldsupervise up to 4 full time employees and may supervise temporaryemployees from time to time based on volumes.

- customer oriented person, with operationalexperience in freight forwarding and logistics - experiencepenetrating existing clients - strong freight forwardingoperational background - understanding and ability to present andsell supply chain solutions - capable of generating new sales leadsand customer relationships - past account management experience aplus.
- minimum 10 years of freight forwarding experience required– preferably within air import operations - associate or bachelor'sdegree (business, management, engineering, transportation, orassociate field), or 8-10 years related experience and/or training,or equivalent of education and experience.
