controls engineer
job summary:
as a controls engineer, you will have knowledge of automated assembly systems with a solid understanding of the basic theory of industrial controls system applications, design, and operation including concepts of power distribution. You will utilize your ability to troubleshoot to solve problems using creative solutions and improve processes while being adaptive to various situations. You will be required to maintain, develop, and improve automation controls systems to help increase productivity and efficiency while meeting both facility and customer needs.
duties and responsibilities:
1. review and input data into plc log
2. participation in and preparation for managerial meetings
3. programming
4. work across with other facilities
5. work cross-functionally with other departments
6. utilize team member feedback
7. find solutions to critical issues
8. maintain and improve overall equipment efficiency (oee)
9. hmi performance
10. evaluate new manufacturing and controls technologies
11. work with tools to find the root cause of an issue
12. keep equipment operating and improve equipment uptime by performing periodic audits
13. identify and implement error proofing requirements throughout the production process
14. sot walks
15. follow health and safety processes
16. act in a proactive and preventative safety behavior
17. documentation and reports
18. ensure that you stay up to date on controls technology
19. stay compliant with training required for position
20. all other duties as assigned
education and experience:
bachelor's degree in engineering, it, or in related fields
years of experience: 2+ years experience in industry and related equipment
travel:
travel required: minimum
knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. allen bradley (studio 5000), siemens (step 7), and c++
2. c sharp and ladder logic experience
3. ability to read drawings
4. advanced knowledge of electronic devices
5. expertise on fanuc roberts programming
6. knowledge on communication protocols
7. advanced computer troubleshooting experience
