Production capacity planner
we are hiring a production capacity planner who will lead, influence, negotiate and collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure sufficient capacity to meet customer demands.
what you will be doing:
* collaborates with assigned team and across department interfacing with suppliers and other functional organizations with routine frequency anticipating and effectively responding to the needs of the customer.
* manages production loads to enable optimum production levels.
* thorough knowledge of plant and supplier product and capacity constraints.
* establishes strong internal and external networks.
* using lean office tools, gathers, analyzes and synthesizes data and independently solves problems of moderate scope and complexity under limited supervision.
* being the liaison between order fulfillment and the supply chain during customer disruptions.
* managing new product launches and lead times throughout lifecycle.
* act as a representative for customer requirements while balancing the effectiveness and efficiencies in the supply chain by optimizing scheduling processes.
who you are:
required skills and competencies
* bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related.
* 3-4 years of experience in a similar capacity.
* deep understanding of scheduling system logic is required.
* proficient in microsoft excel (intermediate to advanced)
desired skills and competencies
* industry business acumen
* certifications relevant to function (e.g., apics, cpim) preferred
* strong knowledge of the central scheduling operation and its impact on supportive business functions both internally and externally.
* leverages increased knowledge of steelcase business operations applying principles, theories and concepts relevant to the position.
* proficient in developing specific detailed work instructions
* proficient in sap transactions and ms office applications pertinent to the role
* able to understand product lead times and work within product capacity constraints.
* willingness to broaden knowledge in lean office processes and tools.
