about the role - we are seeking an experienced plant manager to lead our monterrey, mexico site. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and safety while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The plant manager will develop and execute strategies to optimize operational performance, manage budgets, and foster a culture of collaboration and high performance. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive operational excellence. This role will report to the regional operations director.
responsibilities
* ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
* lead all plant operations, including production, quality, safety, supply chain, and maintenance to ensure efficiency and compliance with company standards.
* develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive operational excellence, productivity, and cost optimization.
* oversee financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
* lead and develop a high-performing team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
* partner with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, hr, and quality, to ensure seamless operations.
* maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to support business objectives.
* analyze key performance indicators (kpis) and implement corrective actions as needed.
* production coordination with scheduling, purchasing, logistics and maintenance to ensure smooth operation and compliance with volume commitments.
* supervision of quality management systems to ensure compliance with standards, objectives and goals.
qualifications
* 7+ years of management experience working in nylon or similar textile operations.
* bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, manufacturing, or a related field.
* knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
* strong knowledge of production processes, quality management systems, and safety regulations.
* strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
* ability to communicate effectively in both english and spanish.
* experience with labor unions and collective bargaining negotiations.
preferred skills
* master’s degree in business administration (mba) or engineering.
* experience managing multi-site operations or large-scale capital projects.
