*position overview*:
the production area supervisor is responsible for overseeing the assembly and/or machine operations within the manufacturing facility in mexico. This role involves leading and supervising a team of workers, ensuring production targets are met, and maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
*responsibilities*:
- *team leadership and supervision*:
- lead, motivate, and supervise a team of assembly workers and/or machine operators to achieve production targets and quality standards.
- assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor performance to ensure efficient operation.
- *production planning and coordination*:
- coordinate with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure timely execution of production orders.
- allocate resources, including manpower and equipment, to meet production requirements.
- monitor production progress and adjust schedules or resources as needed.
- *quality assurance and compliance*:
- enforce quality standards, standard operating procedures (sops), and safety regulations.
- implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality and safety concerns.
- *process improvement and optimization*:
- identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency optimization.
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, lean principles, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- *health and safety*:
- promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
- conduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and accident investigations as needed.
- provide safety training and promote awareness of safety protocols and practices among assembly team members.
*requirements*:
- bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field preferred.
- proven experience in manufacturing assembly operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably a tier 1 automotive supplier.
- strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- knowledge of assembly processes, quality control methods, and safety regulations.
- experience with lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, and other methodologies.
- proficiency in microsoft office suite and manufacturing software systems.
- *proficiency in spanish and english languages (written and verbal)*
