.eaton's veh vehicle group division is currently seeking a manufacturing quality manager.
this is a hybrid role that is based in our southfield, mi facility.the expected annual salary range for this role is $993447.0 - $1457055.6 a year.
*what you'll do*:*primary function*:the primary function of this position is to provide support for strategic quality-related activities within plants throughout vehicle group north america (vgna).
drive prioritized actions with customer quality, cost of non-conformance, quality management systems and apqp.
support maintaining quality levels to meet and exceed customer expectations through continuous improvements and the eaton quality management system (eqms).
*essential functions*:- represent the quality function within the assigned plants, on shop floor and in necessary meetings to analyze and interpreting problems throughout the manufacturing process and implement necessary actions for resolution.- support customer interactions, as applicable, to follow up and close customer complaints.- perform, assess, and analyze process capability, measurement system analyses, process control plans and process audits and take action as needed to address gaps.- provide technical quality support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.- participate in plant and regional continuous improvement meetings to drive regional priorities.- work with manufacturing engineering to develop new processes to improve product and process quality and develop production tools or tooling fixtures to improve capability and/or reduce cost.- support regional fresh eyes audit programs and operational excellence audits- review, analyze and close assigned internal or external corrective actions using systematic problem-solving techniques.- work on improvement and achievement of scrap goals and conc.
strategy- help lead quality related initiatives such as: rpfmea, lessons learned and plant quality transformational plans- develop and coach direct reports to become future ready for new growth opportunities*qualifications*:*basic qualifications*:- bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.- minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing quality environment.- extensive experience in quality core tools of apqp, msa, pfmea, ppap and spc- robust experience working with systematic problem-solving tools such as 8d and a3- worked as a plant quality manager- experience with iso/iatf16949*preferred qualifications*:- proficient with interpreting specifications and engineering standards across multiple automotive product lines- good communication skills and be able to work with all levels of management, technicians, plant personnel, suppliers and high level, external customer personnel- certified iso/iatf internal auditor- six sigma green belt; dmaic methodology or shiann- experience working with product/service suppliers regarding non-conforming material issues or service problems
