The senior hse engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance for projects and service contracts within the energy region, with special emphasis in federal service and federal installation contracts/projects. This role involves developing, implementing, and continuously improving hse programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the well-being of employees, protection of the environment, and compliance with relevant regulations. The senior hse engineer will also provide leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to promote a culture of safety and sustainability and drive hse performance metrics.
key responsibilities:
· develop, integrate, monitor, and support health and safety programs to ensure compliance with the applicable guidelines, procedures, and regulations.
· conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· establish strong working relationships with the employees you support.
· drive continuous improvement in the energy hse programs.
· provide proactive integration ofhse initiatives within the energy region and across the americas, keeping in front ofleading-edge safety awareness.
· conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential workplace hazards and environmental risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
· lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses. Develop and implement strategies to prevent recurrence and promote a culture of incident reporting.
· collect and analyze hse data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance performance. Prepare and present reports to management, customers and regulatory agencies as required.
· provide hse training.
· travel to customer locations to provide on-site hse support.
you must have
· bachelor's degree in health & safety, environmental management, engineering (environmental, safety), or project management.
·5+ years of hse experience.
· excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· in-depth knowledge of hse regulations, standards, and best practices.
· hse program development and implementation experience.
· experience within construction, service and/or field related businesses.
· use innovative thinking to drive continuous improvement.
· proficiency in hse software and tools.
· strong leadership and communication skills.
· ability to deliver on complex situations.
· timely decision-making skills.
· can pass security background check and be eligible for security clearance.

· certified safety professional (csp).
· working knowledge of hse in an installation / construction environment.
· ability to work in field operations environment, including navigating construction sites.
