*job position purpose / summary*
overall plant executive management responsibility.
primary purpose is to provide strategic and tactical vision for the facility as well as manage and direct manufacturing plant activities to ensure safety, quality, cost, productivity, logistics, asset management and human resources efficiencies.
responsible for a labor force that potentially exceeds 500 people in total.

- ensure a safe, secure environment for all associates by being involved in the local ehs program
- support the ehs manager for the activities of this system.
- represent management in matters concerning the quality system, products or actions related to the quality system.
- achieve and maintain the required certifications ensuring product availability in the global market.
- manage operations using continuous improvement as measured by the productivity, efficiency and space optimization.
- develop, implement, and maintain a preventive maintenance process to support equipment and technology.
- implement automation projects to reduce waste.
- manage operations to ensure employees are treated fairly and equitably; maintain high levels of professional staff to meet business growth.
- establish a work environment where avanos company values are encouraged and rewarded.
- communicate effectively with superiors, peers and subordinates.
- bilingual (english/spanish) communication is essential.
- control cost of operations and maintain control of material resources for maximum utilization.
- provide supporting documentation for changes including checklists, notifications, critical conditions, and places where changes have occurred, whenever required.
- participate in and support lean six sigma processes and activities such as:
- statistical process control (spc)
- continuous improvement through six sigma green belt and black belt training.
- process troubleshooting.
- participation in planned general inspections.
- hazard identification and analysis tasks.
- actively participate in and attend ehs training activities as required.
- promote general meetings to support ehs management.
- participate in groups during the development and review of ehs management programs.
- promote annual internal ehs audits.
- set annual goals related to ehs management in the organization, results-oriented and performance of activities, which should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and trackable.
- communicate ehs targets to personnel under his/her charge
- review work areas for potential exposures and environmental improvement opportunities, safety, and protection of personnel.
- require compliance with investigating accidents and incidents.
- comply with preventive and corrective actions, and monitoring.
- define, approve, communicate, encourage, and promote a policy of safety and environmental stewardship.
- define and monitor an ehs safety committee.
- participate in scheduled environmental inspections (at least annually).
- comply with the general safety rules and environmental policy.
- responsible for ensuring that processes and systems are appropriate to ensure the plant meets and exceeds the company's quality, safety and environmental, control requirements to support the latest versions of:
- iso 13485
- gmp
- united states (21 cfr parts 820/210/211/11)
- european community (mdd93/42/eec)
- canada (canadian medical device regulations sor/98-282)
- brazil (anvisa resolution rdc no.16 2013, rdc 40 2015 (class i, ii), rdc 185 2001 class iii)
- australia (therapeutic goods act)
- japan (mhlw mo 169)
- mexico cofepris (nom-241-ssa1) and other applicable regulations.
- all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- communicate and coordinate with other plant managers and corporate personnel to receive and provide updates for labor market situations and other general matters that may impact the company.
