*job summary and scope*:manage and coordinate the growth of profitable sales with current customer base and targeted customer segments in order to increase market share.

*responsibilities*:- plan, develop and attain sales and profitable growth for division/segment consistent with company goals.- manage margin levels by constant monitoring and implementation of pricing policies.
maintain focus on order profitability.- manage and sell to select accounts/clients and act as additional resource/contact for target accounts.- recruit, hire, develop and maintain a sales force which will consistently meet the objectives of the company, group and division.- maintain statistics for monitoring and driving of core supplier alignments and performance to sales goals.- provide feedback to sales director on action plan for improvement to meet goals.- manage the assets (i.e.
inventory) and applicable departmental expenses to achieve the department and division goals.- maintain awareness of current market share position, competitors' strategies, tactics, strengths and weaknesses and communicate information to territory and regional management.- conduct monthly field sales customer calls with sales professionals and as manager contact.- work with the credit collections manager in order to ensure accounts receivable are kept current.- direct the activities and training of the sales staff to ensure that market plans and goals are consistent with and complimentary to the departmental sales goals and cost requirements.- follow company and territory guidelines to develop and maintain relationships with those sources that contribute to the sales and profit generated from existing and new markets.- able to successfully work within a matrix organization.- willingness and ability to adapt to new and changing it requirements.- provide leadership to the department so that all members have a common focus.- other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
*qualifications / knowledge & experience*:- bachelors degree - requiredmajor or specialty area: sales/marketing preferred- distribution or manufacturing sales experience an asset- 6-8 years relevant outside selling experience; extensive industry and product knowledge- 5
