*summary*:
- the system architect leads the product design, development, and technical experts throughout the engineering lifecycle for existing and new products.
the architect will define the system architecture to comply with customer and internal requirements for advanced safety and user experience products.
*major responsibilities*:
- plans and monitors sys.3 work planned for all product releases and program increments (pis)
- analyzes and structures system capabilities and features based on the system requirements
- analyzes and documents system design alternatives
- aligns architecture strategies with project/platform owner
- aligns system architecture with the stakeholders
- allocates system requirements of any given product release to physical and logical architecture elements in advance of scheduled feature development for that release
- responsible for architecture tool chain
- definition of logical and physical product system architecture and actively driving integration of sw, hw and me by defining and aligning logical & physical interfaces
- defines system interfaces (internal and external), operating modes and dynamic behavior.
- defines cpe/cqe tester design
- stakeholder of the program increment planning, system demos and retrospectives
- input and output pin allocation alignment, protocol development if needed, and define hardware-software interface.

- supports system fmea
- supports the product system safety architect on the technical safety concept development
- support the memory map definitions during manufacturing program information (mpi) creation.
- support the discussions with stakeholder to define the product/platform boundaries.
- support the safety and cyber security concepts together with functional safety manager and cyber security manager
*authorities*:
- defines the system architecture strategies and sys.3 part of system & software development plan (ssdp)
- develops the product system architecture & design
- decides about technology usage
- defines the product naming convention, such as system component, parameter and signal names (used in sys.3 and all of downstream engineering (sw/hw))
*contributes to*:
- perform make vs buy analysis
- creation of supplier monitoring plan
- identification of supplier requirements
- evaluation of rfq responses and create supplier analysis document
- scheduling/conducting architecture kick-off meeting
- monitoring of supplier requirements
- development of cybersecurity requirements
- development of strategy for functional safety architectural design
- allocation of system requirements to components
- ensuring traceability
- initiation of system level design fmea (when applicable)
- verification and review of work products
- system safety analysis (functional safety only)
*must haves (basic qualifications)*:
- bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, systems, computer or related field of study)
- 8 + years professional experience in consumer electronics or automotive industry
- bi-lingual - proficient in english speaking/reading/writing
- proven record of taking customer requirements from design to production
- familiarity with microprocessor/digital signal processor (dsp) based hardware designs, and software architectures for automotive designs
- familiarity with development in the embedded environment
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- troubleshooting, debugging hardware/software, failure mode analysis, structured problem solving skills
- the ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly and persuasively to peers, management and customers
- self-motivated, well organized, flexible, works well with complex issues
- ability to multi-task and work in team environment
- excellent communication and leadership skills
