develop and implement plans to address these gaps and drive successful change management.- manage a team of professionals to execute the move and commissioning plan within budget and timeline constraints, minimizing disruption to ongoing business operations.- collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.- participate in the selection process for equipment vendors and contractors alongside the project engineering manager, considering transportation system needs.- stay up to date on industry best practices for warehouse design, operations, and transportation management.- continuously identify opportunities for warehouse process improvement, including transportation efficiency, people allocation, product reception, and dispatch.- foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the warehouse team.
*activities*during project design phase and commissioning plan development*:- develop a detailed multi-stage move and commissioning plan with clear roles and responsibilities for each team member.- participate in the design the layout of the new facility based on the chosen automation system and operational requirements, prioritizing efficiency, throughput, and optimized product flow.
this will be done in close collaboration with the project engineering manager to ensure technical feasibility and smooth handover.- develop detailed procedures for equipment installation, commissioning, and integration with the wms, working alongside the project engineering manager to account for technical aspects.- develop a transition plan for the skills of the workforce who will operate the new dc in vdm.
include strategies for integrating and allocating personnel from the current site.
this plan should consider change management principles to facilitate adaptation.- create comprehensive training materials for staff on new warehouse processes and technologies, incorporating change management strategies to facilitate smooth adaptation.- develop risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges during the move and commissioning
