Committed to providing innovative products and services to clients worldwide, this industry giant boasts annual sales nearing $14 billion usd. As a result of growth, our client seeks a production manager to join their operations in mexicali, b.c., mexico. The focus will be on manufacturing high-speed cable products, with a primary focus on e-vehicles, energy storage, and consumer goods. This position reports to the operations manager.

job description:
reporting to the operations manager, the production manager's primary focus is to achieve production and customer commit plans, while maintaining manufacturing world-class practices related to safety standards, process and product quality controls, customer requirements, and on-time delivery. The production manager is responsible for talent development, continuous improvement, and the positive work environment of the production department.
main responsibilities:
* ensure that health and safety regulations are always met. Drive safety culture.
* determine and implement world-class quality control mindset and ensure adherence to standards.
* accountable for daily operation and meeting production goals in a timely and accurate manner.
* ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently (drive continuous improvement along with functional teams).
* execute and meet planning and managing production schedules.
* collaborate around product introduction to meet given objectives.
* drive continuous improvement on productivity (labor, cycle times) and eliminate waste (improving cycle times, reducing scrap, eliminating process waiting times).
* provide leadership to the supervisors team including establishing objectives, setting goals, and managing accountability for attaining deliverables.
* drive and enable visual factory controls in the production shop floor.
* lead tier and gemba activities with his/her team.
* partner with human resources area to manage employee services, recruiting, training, and development.
* drive initiatives to improve employee work environment.
the candidate
qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree in engineering in either manufacturing, industrial, electronic, mechanical or related is required.
* +5 years of prior demonstrated experience in a production manager role in a manufacturing environment.
* experience in a similar industry like high-speed cable products manufacturing is a plus.
* relevant experience leading a six sigma or lean manufacturing process.
* ability to work across the organization and various disciplines including engineering, operations, program office, and business development.
* experience with process adherence with safety and quality standards and programs defined in the company operating system.
* experience with process adherence for best work environment standards and programs defined in the company operating system.
* coach mindset and experience with effective training programs for production associates.
* experience with kaizen daily practice for built-in quality and productivity improvements.
* conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
* self-directed, result and goal-oriented.
* strategic thinking coupled with effective communication skills.
* possess strong leadership and development skills (developing supervisors and team leaders).
* fluent in spanish and english fluency level – 90%.
