*responsibilities*
- support and promote strong safety culture.
- confirm compliance and remain current with osha, epa, hazardous waste handling and other regulations.
- responsible for supervision and leadership of hourly employees.
- manage day-to-day operations to maximize production while reducing costs and improving quality, on-time delivery, and safety.
- maintain resources to attain production schedule.
- confirm quality of all operations through conformance to internal/external requirements.
- lead industry practices such as 5s, tpm, kaizen programs and cost reduction in area assigned.
- monitor and take steps to improve record accuracy within job function.
- deliver support in making equipment and staffing decisions to support long-term business levels
- evaluate group and individual performance through both formal and informal reviews.
- supply training and cross training for all hourly employees.
- administer labor agreement consistently.
- to cross train in others areas of the shop including but not limited to machining, welding, maintenance, qa, & assembly to be assigned cross sections of the plant to supervise and to be able to cover other supervisor’s areas when they are out of the plant.
*knowledge, skills and abilities*
english >80%
mechanical, electrical, mechatronic engineering degree or similar.
5 years machining experience
previous supervisory or leadership experience including direction, engagement, and coaching
knowledge of fisher products, manufacturing processes and organization preferred
knowledge of company policies and procedures preferred
effective communication skills, written and verbal with both hourly and salaried personnel
solid computer skills including ms office suite (word, excel, access, and powerpoint) as well as ms outlook
