We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of sr. Infrastructure pod engineer. This role will be working on projects in asia, middle east, europe, and americas, with a current install base for 25+ countries.
this role's daily activities will involve performing as a supervisor, not a technical operative, with the following objectives:
* provide sme level l3 support for mid-tier environments as needed. For production, this is a 24x7 requirement when staff members are scheduled; escalate issues to appropriate smes. This schedule will only be necessary in specific incidents, normally from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
* investigate issues to determine root cause and suggest/implement fixes.
* plan and coordinate any infrastructure or application changes that are needed.
* create/maintain a knowledge log of issues and resolutions.
* provide support for development environments for ongoing projects during agreed uk/us daytime hours.
* perform cross-training (as directed by management) to the department on base sas efm functions to support production mid-tier environments.
* create/maintain programs to facilitate recycling of needed sas efm components in development/uat to allow all department members to be more self-sufficient.
* responsible for builds to agreed schedule.
* work with other pods to support application changes.
* install various software packages.
* install/configure/manage splunk.
* install application hotfixes.
* create needed scripts/jobs for batch processing, monitoring, rule deployments, and maintenance.
to succeed in this role and be contacted by our teams, you will need to have experience and knowledge in:
* +2 years of app dynamics and splunk experience.
* l2 or l3 production support experience including configuration, upgrades/patches, performance tuning, and backup.
* 10+ years of software development/deployment/support experience.
* 10+ years of distributed unix/linux administration/support experience.
* 10+ years of db2/oracle knowledge/support experience.
* experience with unix scripting/automating unix processes.
* knowledge of security configurations (i.e., ssl, tls).
* knowledge of java development with restful services is a plus.
* knowledge of tools such as jira, confluence, and visio is a plus.
