- main responsibilities:
- globalize and consolidate business needs, pull multiple entities operating similar services, to demonstrate any synergies to standardize and scale up the activities.
- develop proposals for strategic business decisions and provide support of make-versus-buy options (e.g. in-/outsourcing of technologies).
- accountable for establishment and maintenance of relationships with global strategic vendors, ensuring continuous improvement, spend/cost visibility and cross-divisional account management with tier 1 suppliers.
- negotiate and finalize master service agreements, service frame agreements and other master agreements, support adequate contractualization to support services within the global master supply agreement.
- proactively support the business in assessing of new innovative/technology-driven vendors through networking, cold-calls, conferences, etc.
- accountable along with the business and finance for efficiency and savings planning as well as ensuring the procurement participation in the annual budgeting planning for the category.
- successful project execution by providing all external solutions in time / at the required quality / within budget as verified by the business.
- understanding the procurement kpis related to market insights, price and demand development as well as procurement's performance.

*minimum requirements*
- university/advanced degree is required. Master’s degree/other advanced degree in procurement/business administration and or pharmaceutical sciences is preferred.
- preferably > 5-10 years of experience in procurement or other related experience within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in category management, supplier management, or related area, with a focus in the discovery & preclinical research domain.
- strong project management or other leadership experience.
- excellent spoken and written english.
- effective communication internal and external.
- strategic supplier management.
